Did you know…?
that calcium deficiency can become so severe that osteoporosis can develop without significant changes in plasma calcium levels?
that iron deficiency can be present long before a low plasma iron level can be detected?
Trace elements (minerals) are “…more important factors in human nutrition than vitamins. The body can manufacture many vitamins, but it cannot produce necessary trace minerals or get rid of many possible excesses.” Dr. Henry Schroeder
What is hair mineral analysis?
Hair tissue mineral analysis (HTMA), is an analytical test which measures the mineral content of the hair. Hair is the ideal tissue for sampling and testing; clinical results have shown that a hair sample can give an indication of mineral status and toxic metal accumulation following long term or even acute exposure. A HTMA reveals a unique metabolic world: intracellular activity, which cannot be seen through most other tests like urine or blood.
Trace minerals are essential in countless metabolic functions in all phases of the life process. Their levels can provide additional insight into metabolic individuality, once the metabolic individuality is known.
The body is designed to detoxify and all cells have this ability. So if the chemistry is properly balanced, then the cells will throw out the heavy metals as fast as they are taken in from exposure. But if the chemistry is not balanced, then the body’s natural defense against heavy metals is undermined.
Heavy metals accumulate in vital tissues (brain, bone, liver, etc), disrupt organ function, displace nutritional minerals from sites of biological activity, disrupt enzymatic activity and create biochemical imbalance.
When you begin to properly balance body chemistry by addressing the needs of metabolic individuality through Metabolic Typing, the negative and health damaging process of heavy metals accumulation is reversed in a normal, natural way. Now every cell’s natural capacity to detoxify is activated and restored. As a result, the cells begin to mobilize the heavy metals. HTMA has proven to be an unparalleled tool to track this process.
